Today, my heart is filled with love, gratitude and admiration seeing how you have grown up from a tiny bundle of love to a wise, confident and multi-talented adult. 

What more can any father ask for!

Last week, while watching Lion King the musical show, I was touched by Mufasa’s message to Simba. I am sharing those poignant words below with you today.

Please focus on your 12th Std exams. I know in my heart that you will be successful as it’s in your genes!

As you know, this is an important milestone for building a traditional career path in India. However, having mentored many youth from across the world, there are so many more unique and exciting career choices available to your generation today than what we had while we were growing up. I hope that you will also explore alternative career pathways that will allow you to leverage your passion and make a positive impact on our world. Indeed, choosing a career can be quite confusing and as your father and well wisher, I am always available whenever you want to speak about this.

The legal boundaries that should never have existed in the first place between us, have dissolved today. I have been patiently waiting for this moment for a long time.

I would have loved to celebrate your 18th birthday in person. I hope that you will call and visit your Mumbai home soon. My prayers and blessings are with you on this beautiful day.
